Every year in the month of Sawan, every Shivalaya starts echoing with the chanting of Om Namah Shivaay and Bam Bam Bhole. There is a crowd of devotees in the temples throughout the month and people worship their adorable God Lord BholeNath Jee with full devotion and dedication to fulfill their wishes. Lord Shiv Jee is one of the deities who gets pleased very quickly. In the month of Shravan, worshipping the entire Shiva Family is going to fulfill all the wishes and Sawan Shivratri is also celebrated. According to one of the etymological meanings of Kanwar, the letter ‘K’ denotes fire and ‘Awar’ means to receive it properly. The intention is that fire i.e., the Creator, the Observer, the Guardian and the Destroyer should be our guide and that should be the goal of our life.

‘Kanwar Yatra’ is a ‘Religious Resolution Journey’ undertaken in the holy month of Sawan, which is dedicated to Lord Shiv Jee and Mother Ganga. ‘The Resolution of Kanwar Yatra’ is made to fulfill the wishes or to ensure worldly pleasures. People of all age groups participate in this revered journey with great joy and devotion. Even some devotees go to collect ‘Kanwar’ every Sawan and some people at least believe in double travel.
In the month of Sawan, Sanatan Dharma devotees from every corner of the country bring Ganga water from the nearby banks of Mother Ganga and bring ‘Kanwar’, but according to the Holy Scriptures, special importance has been given to bring ‘Kanwar’ from Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar and Gomukh, Gangotri.
