How to please Lord Ganesha
Worshipping Lord Ganapati and offering Him ‘Prasadam’ of ‘Laddoo’ or ‘Modak’ on the fourth lunar day, i.e., ‘Chaturthi Tithi’ of Bhadrapad month of Hindi Calendar, makes Him very happy. Just like Lord ShivJi, Lord GaneshJee also becomes happy very soon.

Puja Vidhi and Sthaapna
Puja starts with bringing the idol of GaneshJee on the occasion of ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’. Before worshipping, one should assort raw cow milk, curd, ghee, paste of sandalwood, flowers, fruits, sweets, incense sticks, thali of aarti, betel nuts, betel leaves, new cloth to cover the idol and then after having head bath one should start the Pujan of Lord Ganapati with all of the family members.
First of all, bathe the idol of Lord GaneshJee with raw cow milk, curd and ghee, then let the idol be covered with new cloth, offering of flowers, dhoop, lamp of ghee, flowers and laddoos and sweets should be done.
Finally, betel leaf and betel nuts should be offered to Lord Ganapati, along with ‘Dakshina’. At last, ‘Aarti’ is to be performed begging forgiveness for any mistakes happened unknowingly, by any chance.

11.14 am to 13.31 pm is the most auspicious day time ‘Muhurat’ for Pujan. Duration of this ‘Muhurat’ is 2 hours and 17 minutes.
Visarjan of Lord Ganapati
Before immersing the idol of Lord Ganapati, worship as per your capacity and apply vermilion on the idol and offer green grass called ‘Doorva’ to Him. Offering of 21 Laddoos is required and then 5 Laddoos are to be offered to Lord Ganapati’s idol and another 5 Laddoos are to be given to Brahmin.
Rest of the Laddoos is to be distributed among family members as ‘Prasadam’. Performing ‘Aarti’ afterwards is necessary before taking the idol to the place of immersion in a river or a pond or the sea.
People see Him off with a wish to come back in the next year again. Before immersing the idol of Lord Ganapati, ‘Aarti’ is performed once again at the place of immersion.

Procedure of ‘Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat’
Puja Vidhi is as simple as other ‘Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat’ as well. On the day of ‘Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat’, one should rise early in the morning, preferably before Sunrise and getting done with the daily activities, one should take a head bath and after that sprinkle Ganga Jal through the entire house and, if possible, add paste of white sesame seed with the water for bath.
While worshipping Lord ‘GaneshJee’ in the morning one should chant the ‘Beej Mantra’ of ‘GaneshJee’ in the afternoon. After chanting the ‘Beej Mantra’ worship Lord Ganapati with incense sticks, lamp, green grass, flower, fruits, sweets, water etc.
