The birthday of Lord Krishna celebrated as \u201cJanmashtamiVrat\u201d across the globe by the devotees of Shri Krishna, known as \u2018Vaishnava\u2019.<\/p>\n
It is a Hindu festival, which comes on the Krishna Ashtami tithi,<\/p>\n
of dark lunar half, in the month of Bhadrapada as per our Indian Hindi calendar.<\/p>\n
This year it is going to celebrate on Tuesday, 11 August 2020, at midnight, by the \u2018Smaart\u2019 people and \u2018Vaishnava\u2019<\/p>\n
people will observe \u2018Janmashtami Vrat\u2019 on the next day.<\/p>\n
Believers of Hindu religion and devotees of Shri Krishna observe a day-long fast to perform puja<\/p>\n
at midnight as mentioned in our \u2018Shaastra\u2019 that Lord Krishna took birth in \u2018Abhijit Nakshatra\u2019, which comes in midnight time.<\/p>\n
\u00a0It is a very surprising fact that the Moon remains in Her exultation sign, Taurus, every year on the eve of Janmashtami.<\/p>\n
This phenomenon happens every year without fail.<\/p>\n
Torrential rain is another ingredient of this tithi and if the Moon\u2019s own nakshatra Rohini nakshatra accompanies the Taurus sign that glorifies this festival very much.<\/p>\n
\u00a0In our mythological scriptures, it mentioned that Lord Krishna exchanged with the baby girl of Yashoda and NandGwala to save Him from the cruel hands of Kans,<\/p>\n
the maternal uncle of Shri Krishna and the king of Mathura.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Kans was aware of the fact that the eighth child born from his sister Devki and Vasudev will kill him in due course of time.<\/p>\n
Frightened by the terror of death, King Kans imprisoned both of them and brutally killed every child of them till the seventh one.<\/p>\n
Kans was a very cruel and monster-like king. So, Bhagwan Vishnu decided to take incarnation,<\/p>\n
as the eighth child of Devki and Vasudev, to kill him and to give the people of Mathura respite from his barbaric rule.<\/p>\n
People decorate beautiful cradle and place the idol of baby Krishna, popularly known as \u2018BaalGopal\u2019<\/p>\n
and offer puja during midnight time, with various types of milk products and other items of offerings.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Preparing the scene of Mathura, where Lord Krishna was born, is a very popular practice by the people and<\/p>\n
they try their level best to give it an artistic touch, to make it a perfect artwork, and pleasing to the eyes of the spectators.<\/p>\n
