We, Indians, believe it very strongly, from the core of our heart, that Maa Ganga is the remover of all kinds of sins, done knowingly or unknowingly, and makes us pious. On the tenth tithi (lunar day), of bright lunar half (Shukal Paksh), of Jyeshth month, the second month of our Hindi calendar, \u2018Ganga Dussehra Parv\u2019 is celebrated to worship Maa Ganga, along the ghats of Ganga, through Uttara Khand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal, with much devotion and fervour. This year it is going to take place on 12th of June Wednesday. People take holi dip in river Ganges and give alms as per their capacity, to the poor people, to earn virtue and stay blessed.
